3rd and 43

Just a day after the Miami Herald said he’s “waiting his turn” backup QB Taylor Cook told the newspaper he’s transferring.

It was a hard decision for me to leave the program. I enjoyed my time at Miami, and I’m going to miss it. I feel bad leaving my teammates, but it’s a move I had to make. I have the utmost respect for Coach Shannon and Coach Whipple, and I wish them the best of the luck. I’ve just decided to focus on football somewhere else.” – Taylor Cook

The next QB in line is Cannon Smith, who will also be transferring.

I’m very thankful for the opportunity to have been a part of this program. I am so grateful to Coach Shannon for giving me the opportunity to have been part of this team. Everything here was handled with a lot of class. I got to compete and that’s what I wanted. The hardest thing is going to be leaving my teammates. I love all those guys, and I’m going to miss them all. I’ll definitely be rooting for them. After evaluating everything, I felt I had to do what was in my best interest.” – Cannon Smith

That leaves the backup job to true freshman A.J. Highsmith.

There is also a horrible rap song about the Canes and the colors they wear that has been making it’s way around the internet. You won’t find it on this site because it’s just so bad. The good news? It was actually made by FSU students who claim to be UM fans, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they made this song just to slander real UM fans, the entire football program and even the university. Did I mention I’m not a fan of this song?
